Woodland Beauty
The Woodland Beauty design was created to convey beauty, peace and tranquillity. I wanted to create a design that made you feel relaxed as you contemplated it. I wanted to keep the design simple so that the feeling of actually being there with the beautiful woman in that field under that nurturing tree could be conveyed in the fullest sense.
There were many challenges when constructing this design. Probably the most difficult was to capture the entire body. Any artists out there will know how difficult it can be to re-create some aspects of the human form like the face, hands and feet. For this reason these areas are often compromised by either cutting them off or covering them. In this piece I wanted these physical aspects to be a real focal point.
One of the other challenges was the right selection of colours. I did not want to use any colours that were too bright. These would have taken away from the neutral feel I was seeking.

The large towers are 17” high by 6” wide at the base and 4” wide at the top (all measurements are approximate).
