Ceramic art is such a brilliant art medium because you can hold it in your hands, appreciate the smooth feel of the fired clay, admire the glaze and the colours and enjoy the design and the many hours of craftsmanship that goes in to each piece.
When you look at a piece of ceramic art it speaks to you, touches you. In a way ceramic art is a very personal and subjective thing. What I have created my designs around is the conveyance of thoughts, feelings and emotions. I have intended for each piece to convey something that I think stimulates those of us who look for the meaning, message and purpose behind the artwork we own and enjoy.
I hope that you will experience these emotions when you look at the pieces in my collection. I hope that you will like the designs and appreciate the detail and the many hours of work that has been used in each design and the loving care that has been given to the decoration.
I think it is important to limit ranges to ensure their uniqueness. Of the pottery I personally own, the limited edition pieces are the ones that I treasure the most.
Each design is in a limited edition range and each piece comes with its own certificate of authenticity, showing the numbering of the piece and details about the particular design and is hand signed.
The base of each piece is also distinctively marked with my monogram and a tower containing the small branch of an apple tree. The apple tree in the tower symbolises growth. My debut range of pots had one apple growing on the small tree to represent the first range, I am brimming with ideas for future designs and each new collection will add an apple to the tree!
